Evaluating Economic Impacts of Local Food Purchasing in Several Market Channels in Black Hawk and Surrounding Counties
- Kamyar Enshayan, Center for Energy and Environmental Education, University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls
- The researchers will document local food purchase data to illustrate the economic benefits of local food connections in the Black Hawk county region;$6,000.

In addition to RFSWG grants, each project investigator will receive the following support from the Alces Foundation to build on their work:

- Kamyar Enshayan, UNI: $2,000
In addition to these funds, Rudi Colloredo-Mansfeld (family member with the Alces Foundation) will participate in our group; Rudi brings a valuable set of skills and knowledge to our group through his work at the University of Iowa.
A second foundation, that wishes to remain anonymous, has contributed $10,000 to the Leopold Center for use by RFSWG later this year. We plan to use $8,000 for grants, with the remaining $2,000 to help coordinate working group meetings and for student assistance.
